Gregory's Story

Gregory is a handsome college bound mama's boy, who spent most of his high school life at home doing homework. Now he's on his way to bigger and better things as he travels from Bend, Oregon to the other side of the US to attend N.Y.U. on a full ride academic scholarship. His parents didn't have the money to sent him to a college so his only choice was to find a school that would pay for everything.

The plane landed in New York at 3:45 pm. Greg hailed a cab and read off the address of his dorm from a sheet he printed from an email and the car took off. He was amazed by the sky scrapers that surrounded him. When he arrived at his big gray dorm he anxiously gathered his bags from the trunk and rushed to his room. After walking up two flights of stairs he swung open the door to room 33. A black haired guy about his own age was laying on the bed to the left with a guitar in his hands and a ring in his lip. Greg dropped his bags on the empty bed and introduced himself to his new roommate. The guy's name was Vincent and he had lived in New York all his life. Greg knew Vince was a little uneasy about him to he asked to see his guitar in hopes that that one instrument would give them something to have in common. Vince was surprised and reluctantly handed Greg the guitar while asking, "You play?"

"Yea," Greg responded, "Its been a hobby of mine for a while. Helps me relax." Greg picked at a couple strings then started strumming. Vince was astonished as he sat and listened to the AC/DC and Van Halen songs Greg played thinking it would impress his new friend. And it did.

As time passed Greg made friends with people he met in his classes. And Vince would spend his weekends partying wherever he could. The two of them were completely different people but when they were in they're room together there were no awkward moment. They laughed and joked together and played guitar. Greg helped Vince with his homework and Vince helped Greg step out of his shell. They had become best friends.
